CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – UNC juniors Talia Dellaperuta and Avery Patterson have been named to the U.S. Under-23 Women’s Youth National Team roster for the Thorns Preseason Tournament which will feature three matches against NWSL teams over seven days from March 12-18.
The U.S. opens against OL Reign on Sunday, March 12 at 2:30 p.m. PT and returns to the pitch on March 15 to battle the Portland Thorns at 7:30 p.m. PT. The friendly competition concludes March 18 as the U.S. faces Racing Louisville at 5 p.m. PT. None of the matches will be televised or streamed.
Dellaperuta was part of the United States’ 2022 Under-20 Women’s World Cup Team in Costa Rica and its 2018 Under-17 Women’s World Cup squad in Uruguay.
Patterson competed for Team USA in the 2022 Under-20 CONCACAF World Championships in the Dominican Republic and scored four goals in a match against Puerto Rico to become the seventh player in tournament history to score to record a haul.
