RALEIGH The NC State softball team split day two of the ACC/Big 10 Challenge — after winning game one of the afternoon, NC State fell in game two.

NC State 3, Iowa 1 (8 inn.)

To open the eighth inning, the Pack brought in two pinch hitters, both who got out on the catch. Rebecca Murray stepped up to the plate and singled to left field to get on base. She then stole second and MaKayla Marbury walked. Pavlick stepped up to the plate for her third at bat of the afternoon. She walked after reaching a full count and Madison Inscoe stepped up to the plate with bases loaded.
