Wake Forest Announces 2023 Camp Dates

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Following a successful 2022 campaign which culminated in the program’s 22nd NCAA Tournament appearance, head coach Tony da Luz officially announced the dates for the Wake Forest women’s soccer program’s 2023 camps.
 
The four camps will include two Spring ID camps, one Summer ID camp and a youth residential camp.
 
Spring College ID Camp 1 will be held Feb. 25-26, while Spring College ID Camp 2 will take place April 29-30. The lone Summer College ID Camp will commence on Aug. 12. Additionally, the Youth Residential Camp will be held July 7-9.
 
Each of the four camps will mirror the Demon Deacons’ approach to teaching the game and creating champions. Da Luz and staff are committed to each individual player’s development from the ground up, emphasizing first-touch ball control, composure under pressure and confidence in attack.

2022 Women’s Soccer Season Highlights

• Caiya Hanks became the 17th player in Wake Forest history to earn ACC All-Freshman Team honors. Hanks finished the season with three assists and a goal, including the game-winning assist against Georgia.
• Kaitlyn Parks was fantastic in goal for the Demon Deacons all season.

  • The redshirt junior helped the team to nine clean sheets, including a stretch of six in a row earlier in the season.

    • She finished the season with 47 saves and a .770 save percentage.

• The Demon Deacons claimed a dominant 4-1 win over the No. 14 Clemson Tigers and earned a hard-fought 0-0 draw with No. 16 Auburn.
• Liv Stowell led the team in total points with 14.

  • The junior forward collected five goals and four assists and was one of just three outfield players to start all 18 matches. (Meena, Hanks)

• Freshman Alex Wood finished tied for the team lead with five goals.

  • The forward netted a brace against Rhode Island in just 36 minutes of game time.
