Chelsea are the latest club to ask about a loan for Douglas Luiz but Juventus want a substantial fee.

A move from is considered unlikely at this stage, with the Blues unwilling to tie themselves to a fee or commit to an obligation to buy.

Chelsea have considered Luiz following injuries to midfield duo Enzo Fernandez and Romeo Lavia.

Mail Sport reported earlier this month that Manchester City were among Premier League clubs to have been offered the former Aston Villa midfielder.

Luiz had previously been on Man City‘s books between 2017 and 2019 without making a single appearance due to work permit issues.

Fulham, Nottingham Forest and Manchester United were also offered Luiz, but other Premier League clubs are understood to be considering a move.

Juventus are ideally looking to recoup the £21million they paid to Aston Villa in the summer, but may soften their stance in the final days of the window.

Luiz, who plays for the same club as his girlfriend, Alisha Lehmann, has played just 13 times for Juventus this season and could already be on his way out of the club.

He played 204 times for Aston Villa and was previously linked with a move to Arsenal when in the Midlands, though nothing materialised and he remained with the club, helping them qualify for the Champions League.

Juventus are pushing to agree a loan for Chelsea defender Renato Veiga, who is pushing for a move to boost his chances of playing for Portugal.

Veiga could depart despite making 18 appearances for Chelsea this season in all competitions, although only one has come in the Premier League. The 21-year-old joined Chelsea from Basel in the summer for £12million and can play full back or centre back.
