PITTSBURGH – Pitt standout Sarah Schupansky signed multi-year contract through 2026, with a team option for 2027, with NJ/NY Gotham FC as announced by the club Monday afternoon.
“I could not be more honored or excited to be joining such an amazing club,” said Schupansky. “2025 is going to be one special year and I cannot wait to get started.”
Schupansky garnered United Soccer Coaches All-Atlantic Region and Second Team All-ACC recognition after leading the Panthers to a 9-6-3 record overall, including a 3-5-2 mark in the ACC. She led the NCAA in assists (15) and assists per game (0.83), while also ranking tied for 34th in the country with 29 points (7 goals / 15 assists) and 22nd in points per game (1.61). She lead the ACC and ranked ninth in the NCAA in shots on goal per game (2.33) and 16th in the nation in shots per game (4.22).
“We are so excited for Sarah and this wonderful opportunity, and equally as happy for Gotham as they truly just got a really good one!,” said head coach Randy Waldrum. “It’s been amazing to be a small part of Sarah’s journey and watching her grow and develop not only as a player, but as a person as well! She helped transform, along with her teammates, our program into a national contender every year. She helped establish a high standard of expectations for Pittsburgh Women’s Soccer and certainly has left her own legacy for others to follow.”
Schupansky matched a program record with four assists in a 6-1 win over Dartmouth (Sept. 5) and became the second player in Pitt history to record 100 career points during the 7-0 win over Mercyhurst (Sept. 8). She recorded two assists in Pitt’s win over Syracuse (Oct. 13) to set the school single-season assists record (15). Schupansky has five multi-assist games on the season and has tallied two or more points in a game eight times in 2024.
She also set the program record for career starts (78) in the regular season finale at Notre Dame (Oct. 31). She also set the school record for career assists (43) and will finish her Pitt career ranked second in career points, shots, and shots on goal.
Schupansky’s postseason accolades also include College Sports Communicators (CSC) First Team Academic All-America® and CSC Academic All-District honors.
