CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – Highlighted by three first-round selections, 21 Atlantic Coast Conference men’s soccer players from 2024 rosters were chosen on Friday, December 20, in the 2025 Major League Soccer SuperDraft. The ACC’s 21 selections were the most of any conference. The 21 picks mark the second-most in league history, behind the 25 selections in the 2021 SuperDraft. ACC programs have combined for 101 SuperDraft selections in the last five seasons.
NC State’s Hakim Karamoko was the first ACC player selected and one of three ACC first-round picks, going No. 10 overall to the Colorado Rapids. North Carolina’s Tate Johnson was selected No. 15 overall to the Vancouver Whitecaps, while Clemson’s Joran Gerbet, the 2024 ACC Midfielder of the Year, was chosen No. 27 overall by Orlando City.
A dozen ACC players were selected in the second round, while six more were taken in the third round.
Ten ACC programs had at least one player from the 2024 roster selected in the SuperDraft. Wake Forest led all ACC schools with four selections. Clemson, North Carolina and SMU each had three draft picks, while NC State and Virginia had two each and Boston College, California, Duke and Pitt had one pick.
