Arsenal and Chelsea are reportedly not interested in taking the opportunity to move for Marcus Rashford, but Atletico Madrid could be an option for the Manchester United forward.
It’s been a difficult last year or so for Rashford as he’s been nowhere near his best, so it’s perhaps not too surprising that big names like Arsenal and Chelsea are unsure it would be worth the risk signing him.
Still, there’ll surely be some interest in a big name like Rashford as he’s announced he’s interested in a new challenge, and it seems Atletico Madrid might be the most realistic option for the England international.
Man United eye La Liga star to replace Marcus Rashford!
Rashford is thought to be keen on playing in La Liga, and although Real Madrid and Barcelona don’t look like options at the moment, Atletico could be ready to sign the 27-year-old on loan, according to TBR Football.
Marcus Rashford transfer: Can the Man United misfit revive his career in Spain?
We’ve made the case for Arsenal gambling on a deal for Rashford, but even if the Gunners were interested in him, one imagines United wouldn’t be too keen on letting him join a rival.
That could also rule out Chelsea, who probably have less need for Rashford anyway due to the presence of the likes of Cole Palmer, Noni Madueke, Pedro Neto, Joao Felix and Jadon Sancho.
So, could a move to Spain be just what Rashford needs at this stage in his career?
In truth, after so many years at Old Trafford, it makes sense that Rashford might feel like he just needs a complete change of scene to keep him motivated.
Playing for another Premier League club might not be quite enough, so perhaps a move abroad can do something to relight a fire in Rashford.
Atletico already have another English player on their books in Conor Gallagher, while Kieran Trippier was also a key player for them in the past.
This looks like it could be a good move for Rashford, and it will be interesting to see if it comes to anything in the weeks ahead.
