SEATTLE – For the 30th time in program history, Washington men’s soccer will make an appearance in the NCAA Tournament, hosting a first round match against Seattle U on Thursday at 7 p.m. PT at Husky Soccer Stadium.
The winner of the match will go on to face 12-seed SMU on Sunday in Dallas at 11 a.m. PT/1 p.m. CT.
Seattle U and Washington have met 64 times with the Huskies leading 49-10-5. Earlier this season UW came away with a 2-1 victory over the Redhawks to regain the Fewing Cup.
In their first season in the Big Ten, the Huskies finished fourth with an overall record of 8-5-6 and 4-3-3 in conference action. UW advanced to the semifinals of the Big Ten Tournament.
Under head coach Jamie Clark, the Huskies have made the tournament 11 times with six third round appearances, three quarterfinals and trip to the College Cup in 2021. Washington has hosted at least one match in every opportunity with the exception of 2020 where the entire tournament was held at a neutral site.
Season ticket holders look out for an email this afternoon for exclusive pre-sale access. Tickets for the general public will go on sale on Tuesday at 9 a.m. PT.
