Oliaro Earns ACC & TopDrawerSoccer Accolades

DURHAM, N.C. – Duke women’s soccer’s Mia Oliaro received a pair of accolades Tuesday as the sophomore wingback was tabbed the ACC Co-Offensive Player of the Week along with receiving TopDrawerSoccer Team of the Week honors.

Oliaro, a native of Chapel Hill, N.C., totaled a goal and two assists on the week for the Blue Devils as second-ranked Duke totaled a 3-1 victory over Virginia on Thursday and then backed it up with 3-1 win against Louisville on Sunday.

Against 25th-ranked Virginia, Oliaro registered the game-winning goal in the 48th minute off assists from Ella Hase and Devin Lynch.  Oliaro added an assist on Duke’s third goal in the 80th minute as well.  On Sunday against Louisville, Oliaro assisted on the game-winning tally in the 28th minute to Mia Minestrella

Duke allowed only two goals and limited Virginia and Louisville to a combined 14 shots.

Since ACC play started, Oliaro has turned in two goals and three assists over four matches.  She has registered two goals and three assists in the last three contests.

Oliaro is the third Blue Devil to receive honors by the ACC this season – Cameron Roller and Leah Freeman earned Defensive Player of the Week on Sept. 10 and Oct. 1, respectively.

Duke heads west this week as the Blue Devils travel to play Stanford on Oct. 10 and California on Oct. 13, both on ACC Network Extra.  The contest with the Cardinal will kick at 10 p.m. (ET).

As a team, the Blue Devils have won nine-straight matches and feature a 9-1 overall and 4-0 ACC ledger.
