COLLEGE PARK, MD — Maryland returns to College Park for its final two home games of the regular season. The Terrapins host No. 20 Penn State on Thursday at 7 p.m. on B1G+ and finish the week against Nebraska on Sunday at 1 p.m on B1G+.

Series Histories

  • Maryland is 4-16-0 against the Nittany Lions in 20 meetings. The last Terrapin victory came in the second round of the 2004 NCAA Tournament when Mallory Mahar headed in the game’s lone goal to give Maryland the 1-0 win in University Park.
  • Maryland is 0-6-1 all-time vs. the Cornhuskers. All seven meetings have occurred since Maryland joined the Big Ten in 2014. The last time the two teams met in College Park resulted in the series’s lone tie (0-0, 2OT, Sept. 23, 2021).

Maryland and Penn State have met 20 times in the all-time series, with Penn State holding the advantage with a 16-4. All seven meetings between Maryland and Nebraska have come since the Terps joined the Big Ten in 2014. Nebraska holds the advantage with a 6-0-1 record.

Ringing the Bell Twice

  • Kennedy Bell’s two-goal performance in the Terps’ 4-0 win over VCU on Sept. 8 was the first time a Terp scored twice in a game since Lisa McIntyre scored twice against James Madison on Aug. 27, 2023.
  • Bell opened the scoring in the 5th minute, finishing a scramble inside the 8-meters. She added her second of the day less than two minutes later on a breakaway off of a beautifully paced through ball from Peyton Bernard.
  • Bell is the first Terp to score twice in the first half of a match since teammate Ava Morales found the net twice in the opening 45 minutes at Purdue on Oct. 23, 2022.
