NEED TO KNOW
- The second-ranked Duke women’s soccer team (8-1-0, 3-0-0) is set to close a three-match homestand Sunday, Oct. 6 by hosting Louisville (6-4-2, 1-3-0) at 1 p.m., at Koskinen Stadium.
- Sunday’s contest will be aired live on ACC Network Extra with Dean Linke (PXP) and Matt Stradley (Analyst) on the call.
- The Blue Devils have tied a school record by scoring three or more goals in five straight matches (1990). Duke is one of only three schools nationally to feature a current 5-game stretch with 3+ goals (Utah Valley, FIU).
- Duke has scored a goal in the first half in eight straight matches, which is tied for the second-longest streak in Blue Devil history.
- On the season, Duke has scored 29 goals by 12 different players.
- Robbie Church announced on July 22, 2024 he will be retiring at the end of the season and Duke will be promoting associate head coach Kieran Hall to head coach in 2025. Current assistant coach Carla Overbeck will move to associate head coach in 2025 as well.
STORYLINES/OTHER BLUE DEVIL NOTES
- For the sixth time in program lore, Duke has opened ACC play with a 3-0 record (2024, 2022, 2017, 2011, 1997). If the Blue Devils win Sunday, Duke will open ACC play with a 4-0 ledger for only the third time (2017, 1997).
- Fifth year Ella Hase owns six assists, all of which have come over the last five matches. She tallied two against Missouri and SMU. Her six assists ranks tied for third in the ACC.
- Devin Lynch has scored or assisted in five straight matches, which are also Lynch’s first five starts of the year. She owns three goals and five assists during that stretch.
- Duke finished the month of September with a 5-0 ledger, which marked only the second undefeated month of September in program history (2017 – 8-0).
- Maggie Graham owns four goals over her last seven matches, while adding four assists. She owns 12 points on the season. …
