Scholar Athlete of the Week | Sarah Foley

Sarah Foley’s penalty kick in the 17th minute lifted the Fighting Illini to a 1-0 shutout victory over Maryland at Demirjian Park on Sunday. Foley’s tally proved to be all the offense needed to secure a massive three points in Big Ten play with the team’s first conference win of the year. The Illini held the Terrapins to just one shot on goal in the match.

Foley, an advertising major, leads the team with eight goals, the most by an Illini in a single season since 2018.
