Mason Greenwood has reportedly garnered big-money interest from two European giants on the heels of his move to Marseille at the start of the season, according to reports.

The former Manchester United academy prospect has made a fast start to life in Ligue 1 after joining the club at the beginning of the 2024-25 campaign in a permanent deal.

The 22-year-old had spent the previous season on loan at Spanish side Getafe after it was mutually agreed that Greenwood would part ways with United following their internal investigation into his conduct in the wake of his 2022 arrest.

Greenwood was arrested in January of that year for allegations of attempted rape, assault, and coercive behaviour, but the charges were later dropped by the Crown Prosecution Service following the withdrawal of key witnesses.

The forward’s move to Marseille was mired in controversy, with the city’s mayor Benoit Payan among those to publicly oppose his signing ahead of the deal going ahead.

The player’s form has caught the eye of a number of potential suitors, as per the Sun, with Barcelona set to join the two-horse race for Greenwood’s signature.

The Catalan side are thought to be keen to prioritise bringing Greenwood to the Camp Nou in a bid to boost their attacking ranks ahead of the 2025-26 season, and are said to be willing to pay up to £60million to lure him back to Spain.

But Hansi Flick and Co could face stiff opposition from a club closer to home, with a similarly high pedigree in the form of Paris Saint-Germain.
