COLUMBIA, SC – No. 23 South Carolina women’s soccer (5-0-4, 2-0-0) will take on No. 9 Mississippi State (8-1-0, 2-0-0) at home on Thursday, Sept. 26 at Noon, with free admission for fans. Please note – umbrellas are not allowed inside Stone Stadium.
LAST TIME OUT
The Gamecocks come off a huge win over previously undefeated No. 20 Kentucky, with rookie Katie Shea Collins converting on a penalty kick in the 75th minute to put South Carolina on top. For her efforts against the Wildcats and Georgia Bulldogs (Sept. 19), Collins was named the SEC Freshman of the Week for the second week in a row. The SEC honor was her third of the season.
SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS
South Carolina and Mississippi State will face each other for the 22nd time in program history. The Gamecocks hold a 13-5-3 advantage over the Bulldogs and have won eight out of the last 10 matchups. The pair of teams last faced off in Starkville in the 2022 season (Oct. 6), with South Carolina taking home a 1-0 victory.
Mississippi State has had a dominant year, with their No. 9 ranking the highest in program history. The Bulldogs come off a 1-0 win over No. 11 Texas, and also defeated new SEC member Oklahoma 2-0.
PARKING INFO:
Fans will have the option to park at any of the City of Columbia metered spots located around Stone Stadium (subject to fees required through the ParkMobile app), the Roost parking lot, or the parking lot at the indoor tennis facility. The Athletics Village Parking Garage and grass lot behind the garage will not be available.
Single-game tickets are now on sale. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for youth 17 and under, and $3 for groups of 15 or more (with pre-purchase). Fans can also purchase the Gamecock Go Pass for $20 a month. The subscription mobile pass will give you access to all non-conference home football games and all home games for men’s and women’s basketball*, baseball*, softball, men’s and women’s soccer and volleyball.
