COLLEGE PARK, MD — Each week during the 2024-25 season a Maryland student-athlete, who has shown excellence on and off the playing field, will be selected as the Solomon Eye Physicians & Surgeons Terp of the Week.
This week’s Terp of the Week is Laurin Mack from men’s soccer.
Laurin Mack helped lead the Terps to their second win in conference play, as they took down Indiana on the road 1-0. For Mack, he set a new career-high with five saves and had his second consecutive clean sheet. It marked the first time that a Maryland goalkeeper had back-to-back clean sheets since 2022, when Jamie Lowell registered shutouts against Ohio State (Sept. 25, 2022) and Old Dominion (9/30/2022). It also marked the first time a Maryland goalkeeper had consecutive clean sheets against conference opponents since the 2021 season. Niklas Neumann was the last Terp to have consecutive clean sheets against conference opponents, shutting out Indiana on Oct. 31, 2021 and Northwestern on November 7, 2021.
On the season, Laurin Mack has 20 saves which ranks seventh in the Big Ten and leads the conference with a .800 save percentage. Mack’s two shutouts are also tied for the fourth-most in the Big Ten this season.
Maryland men’s soccer is back in action later this week, as they travel to face Northwestern. Kickoff is slated for 8:00 p.m. ET and will broadcast live on B1G+.
