Border Battled: Badgers take down undefeated Minnesota

MADISON, Wis- The Wisconsin women’s soccer team claimed its 500th program win posting a 1-0 score against Minnesota today, Sept. 22.

How it Happened

First Half

The Badgers were relentless to begin the first half.

Peighton Steffen netted her first of the season in the 15th minute off an assist from Erin Connolly.

At the half, Minnesota was leading (6-3) and corners (4-2), while the Badgers lead in shots-on-goal (1-0).

 

Second Half

Possession remained equal through the beginning of the second half.

However, Drew Stover claimed back-to-back saves in the latter half of the game.

With this win, Stover earned her third clean sheet of the season.

Up Next

The Badgers will head out to the west coast to play UCLA on Thursday, Sept 26. Kickoff is set for 9:00 p.m. (CT).
