Meyers Repeats As Big Ten Defensive Player Of The Week


SEATTLE – Washington men’s soccer senior Chris Meyers has been named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week for the second straight week, the conference announced today.
 
Meyers ranks fourth in the nation with five assists on the season. His 0.63 assists per match is 31st nationally and fourth in the Big Ten.
 
This past week, Meyers assisted on Peter Kingston’s goal in the ninth minute in the 1-1 draw at No. 22 Michigan.
 
Earlier this season, Meyers was named TopDrawerSoccer National Player of the Week following a three assist week against No. 4 Oregon State (W, 1-0), No. 9 Denver (T, 2-2) and Air Force (W, 2-1).
 
Up next, Washington returns to Husky Soccer Stadium for its home opener, hosting No. 20 Northwestern on Friday night. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. PT and streaming on B1G+.
