Wadsworth Recognized as Sports Business Journal's Forty Under 40 Class of 2024

DURHAM, N.C. – Former Duke men’s soccer student-athlete Spencer Wadsworth was announced to Sports Business Journal’s Forty Under 40 Class of 2024. The recipients will be recognized during a special awards gala on Nov. 22 at Pier Sixty, Chelsea Piers in New York.

Wadsworth (2004-07) enjoyed an illustrious career for the Blue Devils, earning All-ACC Freshman honors in 2004, before tallying All-South Region and All-ACC honors in 2006. For his career, the Dallas, Texas, native is sixth all-time in career assists (34), seventh in assists for a single season (14), led the ACC in assists per game in 2006 (0.61), and was a two-time All-ACC Tournament recipient in 2005 and 2006.

After graduating from Duke, Wadsworth was selected in the second round by New England before signing with FC Dallas. Wadsworth spent the 2009 season in Brazil, playing for several second-division clubs, before retiring from professional soccer altogether.

In the years since his early retirement, Wadsworth became one of soccer’s premier talent agents, particularly in the women’s game, and joined the Wasserman Media Group in 2012. Last summer, Wasserman represented 11 players on the U.S. Women’s World Cup team, six of whom were Wadsworth’s clients.
