Fabrizio Romano slams Lewandowski rumours

Fabrizio Romano slams Lewandowski rumours

With Barcelona at the top of La Liga with a 100 percent record, it was perhaps obvious that certain rumours would follow in order to try and destabilise the Catalan outfit.

Hansi Flick has managed to harness the Blaugranes in a way that Xavi Hernandez never could, and the side have really hit the ground running.

Ahead, however, is an important and hugely busy period, thanks to the return of the Champions League.

If Barca can safely negotiate the next few weeks both domestically and in Europe, it would put them in a hugely beneficial position come the turn of the year.

Barcelona’s Robert Lewandowski not disruptive says Romano

One player that’s vital to their success is front man, Robert Lewandowski.

He may be the elder statesman of the team, but he is amongst the goals again this season, and will continue to find the net if the bullets are supplied by the likes of Raphinha and Lamine Yamal.

Rumours that the Polish international has been something of a disruptive influence at the club have been completely dismissed by transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano.

Barcelona’s Robert Lewandowski isn’t a disruptive influence claims Fabrizio Romano

“Sticking with Barcelona, I’ve zero information on the rumours in Spanish media that Robert Lewandowski is a disruptive presence in the dressing room,” he said to CaughtOffside for his exclusive Daily Briefing.

“To be honest, I don’t know where this is coming from but it’s absolutely fake news.

“Lewandowski is super popular in the dressing room, he’s a super professional, never had any fights with his team-mates, never creating problems with the staff…

“Lewandowski has a very good relationship with everyone at the club.”

The best way for the striker to put the rumours firmly to bed will be to score against Girona in Barcelona’s next game, and then make a point of celebrating with the entire XI.

As long as he continues in the same vain, he’ll remain as important as any other player in the squad, and provide the side with an outlet which could be the difference in terms of winning silverware this season or not.
