ALBANY, N.Y. – The University at Albany men’s soccer program (2-4-0, 0-0-0 America East) return home take on Cornell Big Red (2-0-1, 0-0-0 Ivy League) on Saturday night.

Last Time Out:
The Great Danes are coming off a 2-nil win against Marist on Monday, September 9. The defense was led by Daniel Shannon, who recorded his first shutout of the season. On the other side, the offense was led by Ander Castillo and Timo Jansen who each scored a goal a piece to seal the Great Dane victory.
 
So far this season UAlbany has scored six goals in six matches averaging a goal a game while recording 57 shots, 28 of 57 on goal, for an average of 9.5 shots per game and a 0.491 shots on goal percentage.
 
In goal Daniel Shannon (2-1-0) continues to rack up his saves total with 18 saves against 94 shots with four goals allowed for a 1.17 goals against average and 0.818 save percentage. On the offensive side, Timo Jansen has played ‘460 this season and leads the team with two goals and an assist. Additionally he has racked up 10 shots, six of which were on goal for a 0.600 shots on goal percentage and a 0.200 shooting percentage. Ander Castillo has played ‘262 this season and leads the team in shots, with 15 shots, seven on goal, and one goal scored  this season. Defenseman Christos Efstathiou leads the team in minutes with 523 and leads the team in assists with 2 on the season. 
 
Looking at Cornell:
Before traveling to UAlbany, Cornell played two matches on the road, tying Georgetown University (1-1) on Friday, September 6 in Washington D.C., and winning at Penn State University (3-2) on Monday. September 9.
 
After three games, the Big Red have recorded eight goals while allowing four against their opponents and average 2.67 goals scored per match. In total, they’ve tallied 42 shots for an average of 14.0 shots per game while going 19-42 in shots on goal to shots.  
 
Alex Harris leads Cornell with nine points from four goals off 17 shots and nine shots on goal for a 0.529 shots on goal percentage and 0.235 shooting percentage.
