Clemson United Ranked No. 1 in United Soccer Coaches Weekly Poll – Clemson Tigers Official Athletics Site

CLEMSON, S.C. – Clemson United was voted the No. 1 team in the Nation in the United Soccer Coaches’ (USC) first poll of the regular season. The complete top 25 can be found HERE.

Clemson maintains its No. 1 ranking from the preseason poll released on Aug. 6 by USC. The Tigers are also ranked No. 1 in Top Drawer Soccer week two rankings. The complete TDS ranking can be found HERE.

Clemson is one of seven ACC teams ranked in the USC top 25 poll. Pitt came in third behind the Tigers, with Syracuse, Stanford, Virginia, Louisville, and UNC coming in at 7, 13, 14, 15, and 17, respectively.

The Tigers opened their season with a 3-0 shutout victory over Penn State, bringing their record to 1-0-0. Graduate Alex Meinhard scored the first goal of the season, and junior transfer Misei Yoshizawa claimed his first goal as a Tiger. 

Next, Clemson travels to South Carolina for its first road contest and the first matchup in the Palmetto Series for the year.
