COLLEGE PARK, MD – Maryland men’s soccer (0-1-1) was defeated by No. 16 Georgetown (1-1-0) in its 2024 season home opener on Aug. 25 in front of an electric crowd of 4,462 fans.
The crowd was the largest since Ludwig Field housed 4,646 fans in a matchup against Wake Forest on Sept. 1, 2023.
Georgetown’s Mitchell Baker scored the game’s only goals in the second and 22nd minutes. The Terps were unable to connect on their three shots on goal. Luke van Heukelum, Colin Griffith, Leon Koehl and Kenny Quist-Therson led Maryland with two shots apiece.

Maryland freshman goalkeeper Laurin Mack made three saves. Through two games, he has collected five saves.
