‘He’s a great player’ – Glasner admits he would like to sign Chelsea player

Doue situation monitored as Bayern bid rejected

Raheem Sterling has been linked with a move away from Chelsea and Crystal Palace has been mentioned as one of his next possible destinations.

The English winger has been told by new Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca to find a new club.

His number 7 has been taken away from him at Stamford Bridge and given to new signins Pedro Neto.

His departure from the club is certain but it remains to be seen which club will win the race to sign the former Manchester City winger.

Palace and Aston Villa have been linked with a move for the 29-year-old winger.

Manager Oliver Glasner has praised Sterling but he played down rumours of a move to Selhurst Park.

Glasner said (as per Edmund Brack):

“You can name 20 players from Chelsea because they have a big squad. Raheem Sterling is a fantastic player, but it doesn’t mean he will be a Crystal Palace player. He’s a great player but I don’t know what will happen with him”.

Palace have lost the likes of Michael Olise and Jordan Ayew this summer, which makes it obvious that a new signing will join the club.

The Eagles have signed Ismaila Sarr already this summer but they would need more additions in the attacking positions.

If Sterling has the option to choose from Palace and Villa, he would certainly choose the west Midlands club as they can provide him the opportunity to play Champions League football next season.
