Manuel Ugarte left out of PSG squad again

With a week to go until the transfer window closes until January, Fabrizio Romano has advanced an update that will be of particular interest to West Ham and Man United supporters.

Both clubs have been heavily involved in deals during the current window and, regardless of what should happen next, will surely be happy with the amount of business they’ve been able to conduct already.

If there’s a chance to be able to land any more players before the deadline, both Premier League clubs appear to be willing to do so, and it looks like they’ve been given a boost in their attempts.

According to transfer expert and CaughtOffside columnist, Romano, Paris Saint-Germain have kept long-time Red Devils target, Manuel Ugarte, out of their squad for the weekend, as well as Carlos Soler, whom the Hammers are understood to be tracking.

There is no mention of injury to either player, nor have PSG’s official channels noted the same, which would suggest that they’re only not being picked by Luis Enrique because both could be on the verge of moves elsewhere.

West Ham and Man United could still sign one more player each

Tim Steidten, West Ham’s technical director, has worked overtime in the current window to bring in some players of the highest quality, and the only real issue for first-team coach, Julen Lopetegui, is to meld them into a winning team.

Erik ten Hag’s purchases have been a little more strategic, though it’s been obvious for a while that he sees the no-nonsense Uruguayan as the final piece in the puzzle at Old Trafford.

If all parties remain willing in the final few days, and finances will allow – particularly from West Ham’s point of view as it’s expected they’ll need to sell a number of players – then there’s no reason whatsoever that these two deals can’t complete the respective Premier League club’s spending in this window.
