Club have found their Summerville replacement

Ugarte agrees personal terms with Red Devils

When Leeds failed to earn promotion to the Premier League at the first time of asking, it was obvious that players such as Crysencio Summerville would have to be moved on.

Even if those players that could earn the club money were happy to stay and fight to get the all whites back up at the second attempt, the financial aspects meant that this was never going to be an option.

Leeds have found their Summerville replacement

That piles the pressure on Daniel Farke of course, though the German does have the previous experience to know what it takes to get a team to peak at just the right time.

Unfortunately for him last season, there were a handful of clubs that had a decent shout at automatic promotion, and a wobble right at the very end of the 2023/24 campaign saw them pipped at the post by Ipswich Town.

Mental aspects surely played a part in their poor showing against Southampton in the Play-Off final, but all of that’s in the past and Farke will be expecting his side to go again.

They’ve not started the 2024/25 season well, and after three games with no wins, which included being knocked out of the Carabao Cup after being comprehensively beaten at home by Middlesbrough, they find themselves with a lot of work to do.

It’s clear that the club need a boost, and that could come in the form of Almeria’s Largie Ramazani.

According to Yorkshire Evening Post journalist, Joe Donnohue, the player is an ‘exciting winger,’ and that will be music to the ears of the Elland Road faithful who became used to Summerville terrorising opposition defences.

The transfer fee seems to be in the region of £10m, and a medical has already been booked, indicating that the deal could be done soon.
