RIVERSIDE, Calif. – The No. 23 USC women’s soccer team picked up a victory on the road Sunday night, shutting out California Baptist for a 1-0 win.

Hayes finished a clinical counterattack for USC in the 11th minute, with Aaliyah Farmer intercepting a pass in the midfield and then sending it ahead to Faith George, who set up Hayes for the strike. Hayes also scored in the first half against New Mexico State last time out.

After allowing just four shots in the first half, the Trojan defense only allowed five in the second half, with three on goal. Laurence Gladu made five saves in goal for the Trojans to pick up the shutout. The Trojans had a 23-9 shot advantage in the game.
