Long Named to TopDrawerSoccer Freshman All-America List

DURHAM, N.C. – As the 2024 women’s soccer season gets set to commence Thursday, Duke rookie Mary Long was named to the preseason TopDrawerSoccer Freshman All-America squad.

Long was one of three forwards listed on the first team.

A native of Kansas City, Missouri, Long reclassified in the fall of 2023 to graduate high school early and is one of the top midfielders/forwards in the class of 2024.  She recently represented the United States U-17 Youth National Team in a pair of matches against Brazil.  Long scored two goals in the second contest to close action.  She also trained with the Kansas City Current of the NWSL over the summer.

Long is a 2023 ECNL National Finalist and 2021 ECNL National Champion.  She was a 2023 ECNL All-American and three-time selection to the ECNL Midwest Conference First Team.  Over the summer, Long was named to the U-17 Best 11 by TopDrawerSoccer during the 2024 ECNL playoffs.

Duke opens the season on the road at Ohio State on Thursday, Aug. 15 at 7 p.m.  The contest will be aired live on B1G+.
