Maryland Begins 2024 Season on the Road Against Lehigh

COLLEGE PARK, MD — Maryland opens the 2024 campaign as it takes on Lehigh on the road in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. This match is just the second meeting for the two programs, with the last coming in 2007, a 2-0 Maryland victory.

The game will air on ESPN+.

The Terrapins enter the 2024 season returning most of their production from a season ago. Ava Morales, who was the team’s leading goalscorer in 2023, returns for her junior season. Lisa McIntyre, who tied for the second-most goals for the Terps last season, heads into her sophomore campaign. Goalkeeper Liz Beardsley returns after a successful first season in College Park. Defender Kennedy Bell heads into her sophomore year after a freshman season that ended with Big Ten All-Freshman Team honors.

•  Dating back to the 1995 season, the Terps are 20-4-5 in season opening games. The streak started on Sept. 3, 1995 with a 6-0 win for Maryland over Virginia Tech in College Park. In season openers away from home, The Terps are 9-3-2 dating back to 1995.

Kennedy Bell helped extend the Terrapins unbeaten streak in season openers last season in a 0-0 draw against American. In their last seven season openers, the Terps hold a record of 4-0-3.
