Crystal Palace reveal ‘nobody’ has offered enough for Marc Guehi

Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish has made it clear that the club will not part ways with defender Marc Guehi unless a suitor is prepared to pay “superstar money”.

Guehi, who rapidly rose to prominence after moving to south London from Chelsea in 2021, has been crucial to Palace’s backline, drawing attention from several top-tier clubs.

Newcastle United are reported to have made multiple bids for the England international, while Arsenal and Liverpool have also been linked. Palace are believed to value Guehi at £65m.

In an interview with Sky Sports, Parish has emphasised that the valuation of Guehi has not yet been met by any potential suitors, despite numerous clubs showing interest in the England star.

“Nobody has got to the valuation yet,” the chairman said.

“If you want a superstar player, you need to pay superstar money. It’s not near the point where we have to make a decision. He’s a generational talent!”

Palace are in no rush to let Guehi go, especially after losing winger Michael Olise to Bayern Munich. Guehi’s importance to the team, coupled with his potential to achieve even more this season, means that any club hoping to secure his services will need to meet Palace’s demands head-on.

Guehi settled into Oliver Glasner’s system with ease last time out, wasting no time in adjusting to the new manager’s tactics. His success saw him earn a spot on the plane to Germany with England over the summer, reaching the final of the European Championship.

Guehi’s involvement was instrumental, and if he is to remain at Palace beyond the summer window, he’s expected to play a huge role in their 2024/25 campaign too.

Palace kick off their upcoming campaign with a trip to Brentford on Sunday.
