Utah Soccer Dominates Southern Utah in Final Exhibition Match

SALT LAKE CITY – Marking six days until their 2024 season opener, the University of Utah women’s soccer team posted a 5-0 match on Saturday night at Ute Field, closing their exhibition season with a bang.

After two 45-minute halves, the Utes and Thunderbirds fought hard for the second and final exhibition game of the 2024 season.

“Despite scoring early, we came out flat and it took us a while to control the game,” said coach Hideki Nakada. “We challenged our team at half and they responded by scoring within 19 seconds of the second half.”

“I am proud of our players for how they’ve conducted themselves during this preseason. They came prepared and put in a great deal of work and effort each day, and I’m excited for us to get ready for our season opener starting tomorrow.”
