  • Anthony Martial is available on a free transfer after leaving Man United in June
  • Two European sides are reportedly interested in signing the 28-year-old striker
  • Martial scored six goals during his Champions League career with the Red Devils

Anthony Martial scored 90 goals in 317 games during his nine seasons as a Manchester United player before being released at the end of June.

Six of those goals came in the UEFA Champions League.

Martial could get the chance to add to his Champions League tally next season because two teams that have qualified for Europe’s top club competition are reportedly interested in the 28-year-old forward.

According to Sky Sports reporter Lyall Thomas, Atalanta and Lille are both keeping tabs on Martial.

Atalanta – who won the Europa League last season – are assessing their options after star striker Gianluca Scamacca suffered an ACL injury during a recent friendly.

Meanwhile, Lille are also on the lookout for a new striker this summer amid fears Jonathan David – who scored 26 goals – last season could leave.

Lille qualified for the preliminary rounds of the 2024-25 edition of the Champions League by placing fourth in Ligue 1.

Martial spent the last five seasons of his United career in the No 9 jersey.

But since his departure following the expiration of his contract on June 30, Danish striker Rasmus Hojlund has replaced him as the Red Devils’ No 9.
