Chivas came up short in their opening Leagues Cup fixture against MLS outfit San Jose Earthquakes at PayPal Park, losing 1-1 (3-4 on penalties). Chivas will hope to come away with three points to ensure safe passage into the Round of 32 alongside LA Galaxy, who sit atop the group with three points.
The Galaxy head into the match full of confidence after their 2-1 triumph over in-state San Jose Earthquakes. Greg Vanney’s team have one foot in the door of the knockout stage, and they might be able to take their foot off the gas against Chivas as they’ve already picked up three points.
