Yes, there is a third place match in Leagues Cup 2024. The two semi-final losers will face off in one final match on Sunday, Aug. 25 to determine which side finishes in third place, and which must settle for fourth place.

Last year, Philadelphia Union defeated Monterrey 3-0 in the Leagues Cup 2023 third place match. Monterrey might have finished in fourth place, but they still secured the highest placing of any Liga MX side in the tournament.

Although a third place match is typically just a consolation prize, the Leagues Cup fixture has much greater stakes. The winner of the third place match, along with the two finalists, will qualify for the 2025 Concacaf Champions Cup.

The third place fixture kicks off on the same day as the Leagues Cup 2024 final. By the end of the night, three teams will have qualified for the 2025 Concacaf Champions Cup, but only one will get to take home the Leagues Cup trophy.
