Revealed: The two players Man United are looking to sell to raise funds for Manuel Ugarte signing after agreeing personal terms with the PSG star

Uruguay midfielder Manuel Ugarte could be set to join Man United from PSG this summer

  • Manchester United are keen to complete a deal to sign Manuel Ugarte from PSG
  • United and Uruguayan midfielder Ugarte have already agreed personal terms
  • But United need to sell another midfielder to make space for the 23-year-old

Manchester United agreed personal terms with Manuel Ugarte this week but his potential transfer from Paris Saint-Germain is not yet done and dusted.

Mail Sport understands that there is currently no agreement between the two clubs and that PSG will not sell the player for less than £59m.

United should be able to reach that asking price but first they must make space in their squad – and in their budget – by selling another midfielder.

Two players have been identified as possible candidates that could be sold to facilitate Ugarte’s arrival.

Those players are 32-year-old Brazilian Casemiro and 27-year-old Scotland star Scott McTominay.

Full back Aaron Wan-Bissaka could also be sold if the right offer comes in.

Casemiro has attracted interest from teams in the Saudi Pro League, which United bosses are keen to explore as it could wipe the Brazilian’s £375,000-a-week pay check off the club’s wage bill.

Meanwhile, United have already rejected an offer from Fulham for McTominay.

It is understood that Fulham’s opening bid was worth less than the £30m offered by West Ham last summer.

Tottenham have also been linked with McTominay, who has been a United player since he joined the club’s academy more than 20 years ago.

As United did not sign McTominay for a fee, selling him would significantly boost the club’s position regarding the Premier League’s profit and sustainability rules (PSR).

Ugarte, 23, only joined PSG in June last year following two seasons in Lisbon with Sporting.
