Mason Greenwood has reportedly held talks over his future with Manchester United’s senior staff amid strong interest from Marseille and Lazio.
Charged with criminal offences in 2022, and although later cleared, Greenwood, 22, has not featured for Manchester United since.
Sent out on loan to Getafe last season, the 22-year-old, who netted 10 goals in 36 games while in La Liga, used the opportunity to avoid the British media’s spotlight and reignite his previously stalled career.

However, with absolutely no way back into the Red Devils’ first-team plans, Greenwood must now wait for his parent club to find a suitable buyer — and despite the striker having one of the worst reputations in modern-day football, he isn’t short of admirers.
Wanted by both Marseille and Lazio, United’s former number 11, who returned to Carrington on Monday morning for brief talks, is subject to a two-way transfer tussle, and according to The Athletic’s David Ornstein, the Red Devils are now advancing in talks with their European counterparts in the hopes of reaching an agreement.
Hoping to include a future sell-on clause, United, although unable to reinstate the English striker themselves, will be hoping to at least financially benefit from his career later on down the line.
During his three years with United’s senior first-team, Greenwood, who has two years left on his contract, scored 35 goals and registered 12 assists in 129 games in all competitions.
