Nestor Lorenzo will likely make just one change to Colombia’s lineup against Uruguay ahead of the Copa America 2024 semi-finals.

Colombia have exceeded expectations at Copa America 2024. Los Cafeteros finished atop Group D, beating out Brazil, and then defeated Panama 5-0 in a dominant quarter-finals victory. Now, Nestor Lorenzo’s side is on a 27-game unbeaten run heading into the semi-finals against Uruguay.

Unlike Argentina or Brazil’s lineups this summer, Colombia’s starting XI has remained fairly consistent throughout the group stage and knockout rounds. Led by James Rodriquez, Colombia will look to make their first Copa America final since 2001 with a win over Uruguay.

Here’s what Colombia’s starting XI could look like against Uruguay on July 10.

GK: Camilo Vargas – Vargas has more than earned his starting spot for Colombia, only conceding two goals at Copa America 2024.

RB: Daniel Munoz – Munoz has two goals and one assist in Colombia’s last four matches, and is a consistent, experienced player on Nestor Lorenzo’s backline.

CB: Davinson Sanchez – Sanchez has played all 360 minutes of the Copa America so far, and the Galatasaray man will make his fifth consecutive start for Colombia.

CB: Carlos Cuesta – Cuesta will look to help Vargas keep his third clean sheet of the tournament against La Celeste.

LB: Johan Mojica – Mojica must link up well with Diaz to challenge Uruguay’s backup right-back in place of the suspended Nahitan Nandez.

CM: Richard Rios – Rios is one of the hardest working players on the pitch for Colombia, and the midfielder will need to be at another level to contend with Fede Valverde and co. on Wednesday.

CM: Jefferson Lerma – After serving his one-game suspension for yellow card accumulation, Lerma will be back in the starting XI against Uruguay.

CM: Jhon Arias – Arias might not have the flashy statistics of his teammates, but the Fluminense man is as solid and reliable as they come in the midfield.

RW: James Rodriguez – Rodriguez continues to shine at Copa America 2024, recording five assists and one goal so far.

ST: Jhon Cordoba – Cordoba scored his second goal of the tournament against Panama, but the striker will face a superior challenge with Rochet between the posts.

LW: Luis Diaz – Diaz must use his speed and playmaking ability to exploit the makeshift backline of Uruguay.
