Wrexham prove their intent with the signing of Premier League defender

Lewis Brunt has joined Wrexham from Leicester City in the latest Premier League transfer deal completed by Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney.

For the first time in 19 years, the Welsh team will be competing in the third tier of the English football pyramid after winning a second straight promotion under Phil Parkinson last season.

The Hollywood affiliated owners of the club are determined to take the team to the next level and offer them the best opportunity to become successful.

In order to do that, they are looking at the Premier League to do their summer transfer business.

The centre-back signed a three-year contract to join Wrexham from Leicester City for an undisclosed fee.

In 2023–24, Brunt had a fruitful season-long loan with Mansfield Town.

He made 40 appearances across all competitions as the Stags finished in the top three of League Two, earning automatic promotion with runners-up Wrexham.

Brunt has told Wrexham’s official website:

“I’m over the moon to get the deal signed and over the line and I can’t wait to get going. Everyone knows the story behind Wrexham, it’s a club with a great history and big ambitions for where it wants to go, so to join that journey is a good feeling.”

Wrexham are ready to take the next step

The Red Dragons have experienced huge success under their current owners, who have not only worked on their success on the pitch but also off it.

They have taken the Wrexham brand worldwide and increased the fanbase of the team to different parts of the world.

Their success story is inspiring and both Reynolds and McElhenney have no intention to stop any time soon.
