Several Premier League clubs have registered an interest in Burnley’s Aro Muric, with the Kosovan expected to leave Turf Moor this summer.

Teams abroad are also following the goalkeeper’s situation and Muric wants to go in as a No 1.

The 24-year-old impressed when taking over from James Trafford towards the end of Burnley’s fight against relegation from the Premier League.

Despite two high-profile mistakes against Everton and Brighton, Muric’s performances earned him significant praise over the last two months of the campaign in which he conceded six fewer goals than were predicted by the xG model.

The Clarets rate Muric highly but are set to respect his desire to play elsewhere next season and a move away could come within the next few weeks.

Burnley have also fielded interest in Trafford, with Newcastle United among those having looked at the England Under-21 stopper.

Currently second favourites to win promotion from the Championship behind Leeds United, Burnley have yet to appoint a permanent successor to Vincent Kompany, who left for Bayern Munich.

Kompany’s assistant, Craig Bellamy, has assumed the role of acting head coach until a permanent appointment is made.
