SEATTLE – Incoming men’s soccer freshman, Zach Ramsey, has been named Washington Boys Soccer Gatorade Player of the Year, Gatorade announced today.
 
Ramsey is the first UW commit from the state of Washington to be named player of the year since Michael Rojas in 2019. Redshirt sophomore Nani Deperro was named the Oregon Gatorade Player of the Year in 2022.
 
The award celebrated the nation’s top high school athletes for excellence on the field, in the classroom and in the community.
 
Ramsey led Mount Si High School to a 17-4 record and the Class 4A state championship this past season. He scored 34 goals and passed for six assists, including a hat trick in the state finale over Camas High School to earn MVP honors. He was also named KingCo Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Year, tallying seven hat tricks and one four-goal game.
 
In his prep career, Ramsey totaled 53 goals and 28 assists.
