June 12, 2024 – United Soccer League One (USL1) News Release

TAMPA, Fla. – USL League One today announced that Union Omaha’s Dominic Casciato has been named the League One Coach of the Month for May. Casciato’s Coach of the Month recognition is the second of his career and first since August 2023.

The reigning League One Coach of the Year constructed another unbeaten month in charge of the Owls, helping the Players’ Shield holders to big victories against South Georgia and Charlotte. Omaha led the league in goals (8) and goal differential (+5) in May.

“It’s nice to be recognized by the league for our performances last month, but the credit has to go to our players who buy into our ideas and work so hard day in and day out,” Casciato said. “They’ve all been a real pleasure to work with since our very first day together, and I feel fortunate to have so many great players giving their all for our club.

“I’d also like to say a big thank you to our staff for all their hard work – Ladulé [LoSarah], Vinnie [Candela], Beto [Estrada], Mykel [Nayeri], Bob [Hammons], Kayla [Roland] and Alexis [Boulos]. Our schedule has been somewhat sporadic up until this point, so full credit to all of them for navigating that and supporting the players to perform throughout.

“I think there’s a lot more to come from the players and the group as our schedule starts to settle into a more regular cadence now, so I’m excited for the rest of the season as we continue to push one another to get better each day.”

Casciato was selected as League One’s Coach of the Month by the USL League One Technical Committee.
