UEFA reveal Champions League Team of the Season for 2023/24 campaign

Phil Foden

Jude Bellingham and Harry Kane are among the stars named in the 2023/24 Champions League Team of the Season after Real Madrid were crowned champions on Saturday.

Los Blancos lifted their 15th Champions League trophy after defeating Borussia Dortmund at Wembley Stadium, with the German side unable to end their 27-year wait for silverware in the tournament.

The 2023/24 Team of the Season has been selected by a panel at UEFA who judge each player on their performance in the competition.

Madrid were given the most spaces in the lineup, with four players claiming spots after their successful campaign in the tournament.

La Liga stars Jude Bellingham and Vinicius Junior also took home individual accolades, with Bellingham being named Young Player of the Season and the Brazilian taking the Player of the Season trophy.

A selection of England internationals earned their places among the stars too, as Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane and Manchester City’s Phil Foden were also named in the team honour.

Bellingham, Kane and Foden are set to be vital for England’s hopes of success at the upcoming Euro 2024 tournament.

While Kane missed out on achieving success in the Champions League after his side were knocked out by the champions in the semi-finals, the former Tottenham Hotspur striker registered eight goals in 12 appearances. Foden’s team were unable to make it past the quarter-final stages but the Premier League star still found the back of the net five times in eight games.
