CHICAGO – U.S. Under-19 Women’s Youth National Team head coach Carrie Kveton has selected a 20-player roster that will travel to Alicante, Spain for a training camp and two matches against the hosts. The roster includes current Cardinal Mia Bhuta, Shae Harvey and Joelle Jung, as well as incoming freshmen Sammy Smith and Jaden Thomas.

The USA will face Spain’s U-19s on May 31 (Noon local time / 6 a.m. ET) at and June 3 (11 a.m. local time / 5 a.m. ET) with both games being played at Estadio Municipal Guillermo Amor. Both matches will be streamed live on the Spain FA’s Youtube page and will be available to watch in the United States.

Spain is currently setting the standard for women’s international soccer. Spain is the reigning FIFA U-20 and U-17 Women’s World Cup champions as well as winning the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup last summer.

Players born on or after Jan. 1, 2005, are age-eligible for this U-19 WYNT cycle. For this camp, Kveton selected nine players born in 2005 and 11 born in 2006. All players in the U-19 WYNT player pool are age-eligible for the upcoming 2024 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, set for September in Colombia.

The roster features nine college players and 11 youth club players. Seven players on the roster helped the USA win the bronze medal at the 2023 Pan American Games in Chile, where the U-19 WYNT put on a strong showing against senior national teams from around North and South America. Four players represented the USA at the 2022 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in India.
