COLUMBUS – After defeating C.F. Monterrey (5-2 aggregate) in their first Concacaf Champions Cup Semifinals appearance, the Crew advanced to the tournament Final and will play C.F. Pachuca at 9:15 p.m. ET (7:15 p.m. MT) on Saturday, June 1 at Estadio Hidalgo in Pachuca, Mexico. The Black & Gold are currently unbeaten through their six Concacaf Champions Cup matches leading up to the Final.
Ahead of the Massive match, the Crew – the only Major League Soccer club to reach the 2024 tournament’s final four – and passionate Black & Gold supporters are preparing to “Clash For The Continent” as the Club has the opportunity to achieve the following:
Become only the second MLS team to win the tournament (Seattle, 2022)
Earn a berth in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, hosted in the United States. The 32-team tournament encompasses top team across the globe, including iconic soccer clubs who have already qualified like Manchester City, Chelsea, Real Madrid, Atlético Madrid, Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, Paris Saint-Germain, Inter Milan, Juventus, Flamengo and more.
Lift the Crew’s second intercontinental trophy, complementing the 2021 Campeones Cup (2-0 W, vs. Cruz Azul, Sept. 29, 2021).
Become the first MLS team to defeat three Liga MX clubs in the tournament, as well as going unbeaten in Mexico.
Become the first team to defeat C.F. Pachuca at home since 2001 (30 matches) in Concacaf Champions Cup play.
Would become second MLS side to eliminate C.F. Pachuca in Concacaf Champions Cup (Montreal Impact 2015).
As excitement builds for the “Clash For The Continent,” Columbus today released an inspiring video on social media. The Crew are also finalizing details for select fans to join a send-off event prior to the team’s departure to Mexico on Thursday, May 30.
On matchday, the Crew are hosting a Watch Party for the Final at Lower.com Field’s Chase Plaza and Condado Tacos. Gates open at 8 p.m. with multiple onsite activations available to enjoy prior to kickoff at 9:15 p.m. Attendees will receive a limited-edition “Clash For The Continent” poster.
