Atlanta United 2 News Release
ATLANTA – Atlanta United 2 today announced that defender Ramzi Qawasmy suffered a partially torn medial collateral ligament (MCL) in his right knee. His rehabilitation process will determine his recovery timeline, however Qawasmy is expected to miss approximately six-to-eight weeks.
Since signing on April 19, 2024, Qawasmy has made five appearances, including four starts, and helped anchor Atlanta’s defense in a clean sheet victory over rivals Chattanooga FC. The 24-year-old defender spent five seasons at Providence College before playing with Louisville City FC (USL Championship) for the 2023 season.
ATL UTD 2 (2-5-1, 8 points) begins its first back-to-back road trip on Saturday, May 18 as the club faces divisional rivals Huntsville City FC at 8:00 p.m. ET. The match will be broadcast on MLS Season Pass. Some ATL UTD 2 matches are available with an MLS Season Pass subscription, located on the Apple TV app while the remainder of matches are streamed live on MLSNEXTPro.com.
