Memphis, TENN. – The USL Championship announced Tuesday Memphis 901 FC’s Tyler Deric and Bruno Lapa were named to the league’s Team of the Week for Regular Season Week 10.
901 FC extended their league unbeaten streak to three with a dramatic 2-2 draw at Monterey Bay FC featuring strong attacking and defensive play from Deric and Lapa among others.
Deric recorded three saves in Saturday’s match, including a first half penalty stop nominated for USLC Save of the Week. The veteran keeper has started every match this season and ranks sixth in the league with 27 saves.
Lapa added his team-leading third goal on Saturday to start a second half rally. The Brazilian midfielder recorded three shots and five chances created while completing 50 of his 57 pass attempts and 3 of 4 duels. Lapa is tied with Marlon with three goals this season.
Lucas Turci earned an honorable mention leading the Bluff City back line with an assist to go with two tackles won and six clearances.
Memphis’ two-match road swing continues as the club travels to face El Paso Locomotive on Friday, May 17 at 8 p.m. CT. Fans can watch the match on national broadcast on ESPN+ and locally on WMC 5 Plus (5.3).
