Bayern Munich and Inter Milan are reportedly interested in Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes.
Fernandes is under contract at Old Trafford until 2026 but is believed to be open to a move, particularly if United do not qualify for Europe.
Team-mates fear he could up sticks after four-and-a-half years at the club, as per the Manchester Evening News.
Fernandes, 29, is having a decent season, having scored 15 goals and created 11 others, although his leadership has also been criticised by Roy Keane.
Bayern think they can tempt him because he is increasingly frustrated at United, while Inter are also interested, according to The Independent.
Bayern Munich and Inter Milan are reportedly interested in signing Bruno Fernandes
Fernandes has had a good season despite Manchester United’s abysmal form and has stepped into his leadership role
Only three players are reportedly safe from the chop this summer – Kobbie Mainoo, Alejandro Garnacho, and Rasmus Hojlund.
Every player has a price and Sir Jim Ratcliffe could be tempted to let go of Fernandes if a bidder named the right sum.
Although he has had his struggles, he is still one of the Premier League’s best players on his day and has won United’s player of the year award twice, becoming the third player to do so after David Beckham and David de Gea.
He has stepped up in recent times and fans have praised him for his leadership, particularly in the 4-3 FA Cup win against Liverpool where he filled in in defence.
However, United may want to sell to abide by the Premier League’s profit & Sustainability Rules and help to fund Ratcliffe’s rebuild.
The prospect of him dovetailing with Harry Kane at Bayern is tantalising for their fans due to his creative talent – and Kane’s ability to finish the chances he conjures.
They are aiming to evolve their squad and improve their attacking options, The Independent claims.
