San Francisco – Bay FC , the new women’s professional soccer franchise representing the Bay Area in the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL), will showcase Bay Area sports pride through a variety of fan experiences at its Bay Area Unite Night at the club’s home match on Friday, May 17 as the team takes on San Diego Wave FC at 7:30 p.m. at PayPal Park in San Jose. The Club will celebrate the rich sports culture in the Bay Area by recognizing all professional sports teams including the Golden State Warriors, San Francisco Giants, San Francisco 49ers, Oakland A’s, San Jose Sharks, and the upcoming Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA) Warriors expansion team, Golden State Valkyries.


“Paying homage to the nine counties that Bay FC calls home is something we aim to do every single day as a club,” said CEO Brady Stewart. “The Bay Area sports teams have continuously shown up and shown out with support for Bay FC in its inaugural season and Bay Area Unite is a great way for us to thank them and pay tribute to them for their incredible support for our club and team.”

Bay Area Unite, presented by Bay FC Founding Partner PNC Bank , will provide fun for all with added experiences and activations showcasing all the incredible professional sports teams who call the Bay Area home. These events include:

– Welcoming the Newest Women’s Team to the Bay Area: Bay FC players will wear WNBA shirts upon arrival to PayPal Park to show support for the newest WNBA expansion team – Golden State Valkyries – announced earlier today.

– Buddying up with Bay Area Team Mascots: Fans can interact and take pictures with fellow Bay Area sports team mascots including Sharkie (San Jose Sharks), Sourdough Sam (San Francisco 49ers), Q (San Jose Earthquakes), and Mav’riks (Santa Cruz Warriors) in the FanFest area pre-match.

– Testing Bay Area Sports Knowledge and Making Friendship Bracelets Pre-Match: Those who arrive early can enjoy learning new facts – or acing the challenge – of Bay Area sports trivia in FanFest and winning fun giveaways. Fans can also show how they unite by making friendship bracelets with Bay Area sports team colors at the Spirit Station.

– Cheering on the Warriors Hardwood Classics at Halftime: Dance along with the Golden State Warriors Hardwood Classics senior dance team at halftime as they give fans a performance they won’t want to miss.
