St. Louis, Mo. – Chicago Fire FC (2-6-4, 10 points) fell 3-1 to St. Louis CITY SC (3-1-7, 16 points) on Saturday night at CITYPARK.

The Fire found the back of the net in the 46th minute when forward Hugo Cuypers scored his third goal of the season. Midfielder Chris Mueller carried the ball up the right flank, sending a cross to the far side of the box. Defender Andrew Gutman met the pass in the air, heading it to the top of the six where Cuypers stretched to half-volley it into the net.

The home side opened the scoring first in the second minute when midfielder Rasmus Alm collected the ball in the center of the park about 30 yards from goal. The Swede took a few touches toward goal, sending a shot from distance that went over goalkeeper Chris Brady and into the net. St. Louis’ second goal of the match was scored in the 56th minute by forward Joao Klauss. The Brazilian sealed the score in the 67th minute with a header at the back post.
