HOUSTON – The Houston Dash return to Shell Energy Stadium on Wednesday, May 8 to host the reigning NWSL champion, NJ/NY Gotham FC at 7 p.m. CT.
The Dash look to build on their draw with the Kansas City Current on Sunday evening following a delay due to inclement weather. The Dash trailed going into the locker room at halftime but secured a share of the points following Amanda West’s first NWSL goal. The rookie forward was well positioned to capitalize on a loose ball after Barbara Olivieri forced a turnover inside the box.
Dash goalkeeper Jane Campbell finished with 12 saves, matching the league record for the most saves in a single game. The goalkeeper finished with six saves in each half. This was only the second time Kansas City was limited to one goal or less this season. Campbell leads the league with 40 saves on the season through seven matches, nearly twice as many as the next goalkeeper, Bay FC’s Lysianne Proulx who has 26 saves.
