CHICAGO – Chicago Fire FC (2-5-4, 10 points) fell 1-0 to the New England Revolution (2-7-1, 7 points) on Saturday night at Soldier Field.
Chicago Fire FC II winger Omari Glasgow made his Major League Soccer debut, coming on as a substitute for Homegrown midfielder Brian Gutiérrez in the 79th minute. Glasgow was signed to a short-term loan agreement prior to the match, before becoming the first-ever Chicago Fire FC II player to feature for the First Team in MLS regular season action.
After a back-and-forth first half that ended with both teams heading into the locker room scoreless, it was New England who broke through first in the 62nd minute. Forward Tomás Chancalay collected the ball and carried it up the middle of the field, sending a shot from the arc at the top of the 18-yard-box that sailed into the top left corner of the net.
NEXT MATCH: Chicago will head back on the road for a Rivalry Week match against St. Louis CITY SC on Saturday, May 11. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. CT at CITYPARK, and the match will be broadcast globally on MLS Season Pass and transmitted locally via 890 WLS-AM in English and WRTO 1200 AM in Spanish.
